I have used that feature a few years ago to live debug and hot-patch a remote running Cheyenne instance for a customer. Supporting a more organized infrastructure for DSU (modularized changes, multiple live versions, etc..) is not in the short-term plans, but we will consider adding similar features when developing our future server framework.Nenad Rakocevichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06600325626233743055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936111837781935054.post-57345267356531434622012-12-19T00:00:30.084+01:002012-12-19T00:00:30.084+01:00I don't know if Doc is planning explicit suppo...I don't know if Doc is planning explicit support like in Erlang, but once Red gets the JIT compiler, it should be possible to implement something similar yourself.Kaj de Voshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02786569312219497586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936111837781935054.post-42158022853497201002012-12-16T15:10:04.591+01:002012-12-16T15:10:04.591+01:00Thank you very much for this clear and concise rel...Thank you very much for this clear and concise release note. What a progress ! That's great to see all these core features brought to life. Red is more and more concrete, it's really motivating...

By the way, I have a technical question : is Red going to support hot code loading/swapping as Erlang language does for example (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erlang_%28programming_language%29#Hot_code_loading_and_modules / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_Software_Updating ) ?

Thanks again for this christmas release !
deglingonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936111837781935054.post-51553439917149671232012-12-15T22:58:55.058+01:002012-12-15T22:58:55.058+01:00great !great !jockonoreply@blogger.com
